Tasks in work package 5
Work package 5 led will develop business models based on value creation from upgrading blue mussels to organic feed compounds and ecosystem services provision through water quality improvements.
A business model system will link data from other work packages to financial and economic assessments in a bio-economic framework. Competitiveness and return on investment in mussel upgrading is evaluated under a range of price, production and environmental regulation scenarios. Economic value of ecosystem services production will be included in the business model by allowing credit trading between land based polluters and mussel producers.
Catchment and national scale models will assess business viability, societal value and economic activity including job creation.
